Matt Cutts says RIP to Guest Blogging

Matt Cutts says RIP to Guest Blogging
Matt Cutts, the head of Web Spam team has declared dead of Guest Blogging.

Yes. Yes. You were read it right. Guest Blogging in dead.

There are times that Article Marketing, Directory Submission, Blog Comments and other tactics that works really well. And over time these tactics had been  considered as spammy and still there are a few people in the industry following these spammy tactics to play head to head with Google Algorithm(Say Penguin).

And Guest Blogging has joined the party very recently.

Want to know why? Lets dig into it. When all other link building tactics has been considered as spammy, the spammers uses guest post as the only tactics to build links for their sites.

According to Matt Cutts on Guest Blogging as Link Building Strategy

I wouldn't recommend relying on guest posting, guest blogging sites, or guest blogging as a link building strategy.

So what does it mean for reputed sites who accepts Guest Blogging?

Sites like MOZ, Searchenginejournal still receives guest blogging from experts in the industry.

The huge difference between the Guest Posts in these sites with other low quality sites is these people mostly links to the informational keyword instead of ecommerce keywords along with link to their social profiles. So that it provides an oppurtunity to read the post and stay connected with with the author via Twitter, Linkedin or Facebook.

Will Guest Blogging really add value?

Yes. But hereafter it will not considered as a link building tactics instead it acts as the medium between the publisher and the reader.

Happy Guest Blogging
